Shrines of Our Lady in England Anne Vail
This is back in stock after recently selling out!
There are more than sixty Shrines in honour of Our Lady in England. Most were founded in the thirteenth centuries, and from the start they were noted places of pilgrimage. The paths worn across the land by the pilgrims' steps mark England indelibly as Our Lady's Dowry.
Anne Vail has made her own pilgrimage to many of these fascinating places, exploring and recording their history and their spirituality. Illustrated with the author's own delightful drawings, here is a geographical location, public transport, times of services, devotion and pilgrimages, accommodation and other local attractions.
In discovering the Shrines of Our Lady in England we can reconnect with centuries of prayer and with the extraordinary experience of pilgrimage.
Anne Vail was born in Dorset into a naval family. She spent her childhood in various countries, finishing her education at the Sorbonne in Paris.
